Annapolis, Maryland – (February 6, 2017) – Anne Arundel County’s most prominent security technology entrepreneurs and companies will be showcasing their products and expertise at RSA 2017 in San Francisco. The conference, which runs from February 13 to 17, is one of the foremost gatherings for technologists, investors and cyber industry professionals.
Anne Arundel County is home to Fort Meade and prominent cyber defense agencies such as the National Security Agency, U.S. Cyber Command and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). These assets along with the county’s highly skilled workforce and proximity to Washington, D.C., make it a premiere location for cyber security businesses. Representatives from Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) will attend the conference to highlight business development opportunities and promote county based cyber security companies.

Mr. Winkler’s presentation will detail how technology, process and awareness should combine to stop human failings. A frequent presenter at the RSA Conference, he is President of the Internet Security Advisors Group and a highly regarded cyber security expert. Mr. Winkler is the author of the 2016 book “Advanced Persistent Security: A Cyberwarfare Approach to Implementing Adaptive Enterprise Protection, Detection, and Reaction Strategies.” The book is an analysis of information security risks and challenges to organizations as well as a presentation of how entities can develop and prioritize appropriate countermeasures. Mr. Winkler will be signing his book during an appearance at the RSA Conference Bookstore in Moscone South on Thursday, February 16, from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
