Bitdefender Tuesday unveiled three new products designed to help MSPs take advantage of rapid growth in demand for advanced threat prevention, detection, investigation and response services.
Bitdefender Cloud Security for MSP now includes patch management, advanced threat security (with HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer), and endpoint detection and response (EDR). The new offerings are optional and will be available with monthly usage-based licensing for MSPs from the same multitenant Bitdefender cloud console that MSPs use today.
Joe Sykora, Bitdefender’s vice president of worldwide channel development, tells us MSPs asked for these products, “which shows a genuine need for integrated security.”
“Our research shows MSPs expect to grow by offering new security services that provide a layered approach to protection, as well as next-gen solutions to defend against advanced threats,” he said. “We also expect that interest from midsize companies in detection and response capabilities will increase, and this will generate demand not just for regular channel partners but also for MSSPs or MSPs that want to add managed detection and response services for customers that are very sensitive to security breaches.”
MSPs can deploy and manage the new products along with antivirus/antimalware protection, content control, device control, MS-Exchange security, full-disk encryption, virtualization and cloud security.
“Now, MSPs can add managed threat hunting or managed detection and response services to their standard offering, generating new streams of revenue, meeting customer demand for advanced targeted attack protection, and differentiating their offering with MSSP capabilities,” Sykora said. “Having a single modular solution that combines all endpoint-security capabilities with a pay-per-usage model gives MSPs significant cost and operational benefits as well.”
Patch management offers a single source of patching with a database of Windows and third-party applications. Patches can be applied automatically to all devices anywhere, both on-site and at remote locations.
Advanced threat security protects against fileless attacks, PowerShell and other script attacks, and delivers improved threat context and visibility.
Endpoint detection and response correlates information from different sensors, looks for anomalous behavior and offers visibility into indicators of compromise (IOCs), and one-click threat investigation and incident response workflows.
“The complete security suite eliminates the costs and obstacles MSPs have faced in the past when stacking: antivirus, antimalware, content control, encryption, patch management, virtualization security, next-gen security and EDR,” Sykora said. “Bitdefender offers these capabilities in one dedicated solution, reducing the cost and the performance impact on user machines. Additionally, having all capabilities in one platform prevents MSPs from having to manage disparate vendors and solutions; instead, it’s a complete security solution in one platform.”
“With the new tunable machine learning, detection, investigation and response capabilities, MSPs and MSSPs can now add specialized security services to address the needs of companies that are highly sensitive about their data and concerned about advanced or targeted attacks,” said Jose Lopez, Bitdefender’s vice president of global sales, service providers and technology licensing.
